For example, this view of Tib Street, in between Nua and Kiku. You can see in particular that the shop where Kiku now is, was still to let when the Google camera car went past. Not sure how I feel about all this in residential streets though!

16 Feb 09   New ADSL modem

I don't normally weblog about computer stuff, but yesterday I replaced this ASUS AAM6000EV ADSL modem I'd been using for my internet connection since the spring of 2002. All the way from 512kb/s to 8Mb/s without a hardware or firmware upgrade is pretty impressive. I'd also never thought before about all the emails, messages and website updates that have passed through that box, as it sat quietly in it's cupboard in the cellar all these years.

I don't usually go for the latest gadgets but I've been thinking of getting a phone that's practical to use with the web for a while. My old contract has just finished it's minimum term and so the iPhone 3G - launched today - was a natural choice, and I managed to get one of the first batch. [more...]
