Washington DC

After arriving in
Washington yesterday, we spent today doing touristy things: mostly looking at buildings and visiting museums.
lili has taken quite a few pictures, and she may post some of them when we get back, but for now here is one from the Lincoln Memorial steps showing the Washington Monument, reflecting lake, the dome of the Capitol, and Marine One helicopter flying out from the White House (Bush had just
attended
the global law enforcement torch run ceremony and that part of the city was full of policemen in yellow DHL sponsored T-shirts all morning!)
Later on we fitted in the Holocaust museum, the Air and Space Museum, Sackler and Freer galleries, and the National Gallery.
Finally, I've taken a picture from our hotel room showing Thomas Circle, and the Washington Plaza hotel where the
Master/slave Conference starts tomorrow. We're going to register tonight and have a nose round that hotel before things start in earnest tomorrow morning.
