Cork City Gaol

Cork City Gaol was founded in the early 19th century and is now a museum. The grounds, entrance area, offices and the west cell block are open to visitors, and the museum is dotted with life-sized figures of staff and prisoners. A big feature of the gaol is that you can walk around the cell block and up on to its landings, and get a real feel for the place.

Entrance:

Prison Cells:
The landings and cells of a Victorian cell block.
