29 Jun 11Mark III Glider pony cart
The third version of my original Glider pony cart. The Mark III still weighs less than 11kg and can be made using simple tools, but it's more stable and better suited to woodland rides than cement floors or tarmac roads.

Cart in front of the Log Cabin and picnic benches in the Glade at Bridgewood. I've written a blog post about repairing the cart and how it's used.

11 Apr 11Log Cabin at Bridgewood
2011 saw this new Log Cabin, in the Glade at Bridgewood. The Log Cabin is a Scandanavian style one with squared off "logs". I've made heavy shutters that go over the windows when it's not in use, and I'm still sorting out the furniture inside: a dining table, sink, maybe a workbench for sharpening the chainsaw etc on site. I'm probably going to put in a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking too, and this will be great in the winter season (November to April) which is when most of the forestry work actually gets done.

26 Aug 06"Traveller above the Sea of Mist" by C.D.Friedrich
C.D. Friedrich said: "Close your bodily eye, so that you see your vision first with your spiritual eye. Then bring to the light of day that which you have seen in the darkness, so that it may reflect on others, from the external to the internal."

mia uses a detail from this painting on her IC profile and various other sites. The original is in Towneley Hall in Burnley and I've blogged about it.

12 Aug 10Scythe mower
Basically it's a hedge trimmer on wheels. The wheels are powered too, so once you set off it's relentless and just chews through everything less than about an inch thick.
