Insex has got to be first, because it's my favourite bondage site. It's been running for years in and around New York, with photoshoots often done live and now including downloadable videos plus lots of stills. Originally PD, the owner and creator of the site, did most of the topping and rigging, but recently Cyd and some of the models have done a lot more. (As of September 2005, Insex is closing due to anti-SM persecution from the Bush administration. They've opened www.hardtied.com and www.infernalrestraints.com, which don't feature items like needles which are on the neopuritans' current hit list.)

RopeLover Restrained

Bridgett Harrington's site, featuring a mix of rope and other bondage work, plus some fetish images like this Zentai suit and Tray Gag, some truly bizarre clown fetish stuff (!), shaving, bondage outdoors and in odd locations like lecture theatres and building sites. Bridgett also does some photography herself, but on RopeLover she is almost always the model.

Claire started out as Az on Insex, and has modelled for lots of other first rate bondage sites since, including a residency at House of Gord. Her site is an online portfolio rather than a paysite, and along with some great pictures, has a link to her LiveJournal which she frequently posts to. Claire has been doing more topping at Insex, and now identifies as a "sadistic switch bondage model."

This German site is billed as a photographic rather than a bondage site, but there are still lots of bondage and fetishy images. There is a strong emphasis on out-door "industrial" locations, especially in the extensive archives; and you could be forgiven for thinking all the derelict factories of Germany and Poland are filled with naked women, who are smeared with engine oil and chained to rusting machinery. Another German website, which runs on a subscription basis. Concentrates on steel bondage and vaguely historical themes. In the public area is their famous diving bondage photo shoot, in which naked models are taken underwater using buddy-breathing and then photographed in various rope ties, netting, and in this case, a strait-jacket.
