8 May 12   Lush animal testing protests
Last month Lush, the high street retailer of bath bombs etc, ran a campaign in many of their shop windows involving people in cages or dressed as animals to highlight animal testing of cosmetics. In their Regent Street shop they put on a performance lasting several hours in which a body-stocking naked actress was tortured by a man in a white coat. Not surprisingly, the coverage of this got some BDSM attention. [more...]
18 Feb 12   The old ball and chain
The ball and chain is an iconic tool of captivity, and I've been making a couple as you can see in the picture, mainly for use at Bridgewood. The shackles are Darby style leg cuffs from KUB, but I've adapted the iron balls from off-the-shelf iron gate components. The balls are 5 inches in diameter and weigh about 7kg each which is something mia can carry for a bit but not wander around where she feels like with (we felt the weight of them in the shop), and cost less than £10 each. [more...]
4 Feb 12   Cellar pony walker
Walkers are frames that allow horses to exercise by themselves in a circle. For horse owners, they reduce the amount of supervision required, and like a lot of equestrian equipment the idea can be adapted to BDSM. Horses spend their whole lives in some form of bondage or captivity if you think about it :) You do see horse walkers appear in pony play contexts now and then: there was one at the old Deferre woodland in Devon, and a couple of Insex scenes had them made out of some of PD's scaffolding. So it's something I'd had at the back of my mind for a while when at the end of last year @mia had [more...]
27 Jun 11   Arch bench at Bridgewood
Last week I posted about the Arch Bench I've been building for Bridgewood and today (Sunday), I installed it as you can see in the picture. [more...]
17 Jun 11   Arch bench
This week I've been in the process of turning the upper half of this hammock frame from B&Q into a sort of arched spanking bench by turning it upside down (without the bottom legs) and bolting wooden slats across. The idea is to leave it outdoors at Bridgewood, probably with a tarpaulin across it when not in use. I'm bolting it to tanalised sleepers lengthways on the ground to stop it spreading out, and wooden supports under the wider slat at the top to add to its rigidity. [more...]
23 Jun 10   Making switches and birches
Last week there was a thread about birches on IC so while I was at Bridgewood this weekend, I decided to take some pictures of cutting switches and making a birch from the hazel which is abundant in the wood. Birch itself and willow are also good woods for this, but I naturally concentrate on hazel. [more...]
10 May 10   The Holding Pen
This weekend I've almost finished the Holding Pen at Bridgewood, which provides a secure holding space for captives, and is just over 3m by 3m in size. The walls are steel mesh panels, and it's all topped with barbed wire. [more...]
28 Jan 10   Suppliers page
Tonight I started a page listing BDSM suppliers that I've made purchases from over the years and are prepared to recommend. This really is a case of "put your money where your mouth is", rather than the comprehensive lists of vendors you see on sites like IC or TSR.
2 Sep 09   Cage pit
Over the Bank Holiday weekend, I built and assembled a wood-lined cage pit at Bridgewood. [more...]
19 Aug 09   This weekend at Bridgewood
PhoenixAmber has written a great blog about the weekend, including the Ladder Rack she and EricStanton built using some of the cut hazel poles. [more...]
