We had a great time at Club Lash on Friday, and I was very impressed with Memoirs of a Geisha today - "sumptuous" etc. It's also come at a very interesting time, since thinking about "Household D/s" has brought non-Western models of service, training and non-traditional households to the fore.

www.insex.com is still online, but now no longer updated and in the process of closing due to the neopuritan Bush administration as I've mentioned, and their new site has opened at www.hardtied.com - not sure what to make of it, but there's a sarcastic safety checklist to give us an idea what kinds of things consenting adults can't now do on camera in the US.

5 Nov 05 "The Image" by Jean de Berg

I only came across "The Image" a couple of weeks ago: it's only 67-pages in English translation, and was published in Paris in 1955, the year after "The Story of O". There are a lot of similarities between the two: they both feature female submissives in contempary Paris, were written by wives of French authors but published under pseudonyms ("The Image" was probably written by Catherine Robbe-Grillet), and are classed at capital-L Literature rather than smut

"The Image" also features a preface "signed" by Pauline Reage, the author of "O", but probably written by Alain Robbe-Grillet. [more...]

I've now added pictures I took at Cork City Gaol and more recent ones of Lincoln Castle's Victorian prison and medieval dungeon to the prisons section of my homesite. If you're into that kind of thing, they're both pretty atmospheric places to visit
