It's now less than a month to the
Master/slave Conference in Washington, and we're going to be quite involved: not only are lili, popi and I going, but TSR is a gold sponsor, there is a TSR meeting for members and subscribers, and I've been invited on to one of the panels.
The TSR meeting is organised by Carolyn and her owner Steve, and it's looking like there will be a dozen or more TSR people coming to it.
The programme and
list of workshops have been published, and we've already sat round the dining room table once discussing what looks especially interesting or useful.
I'm involved in the "Leather Families: The multi-slave household" panel session, and I hope to bring my British and non-Leather perspective to it (I think it's correct to say I'm the only non-North American resident on the programme.)
I say non-Leather because I'm not part of the
Leather subculture, which is essentially absent from the UK, where almost everyone identifies with "BDSM", "SM" or "fetish" instead. There are some SM-orientated motorcycle clubs like Manchester Superchain, and SM/Fetish club events with an emphasis on leather gear, but nothing like the extended and increasingly pansexual leather subculture in the US - which I'm looking forward to seeing up close in Washington.
As part of the programme booklet and website, I've had to
put together a
short bio, which was an interesting exercise in itself. Up to now, I'd not done much more than a paragraph when required for mailing list introductions.
