Google Talk

Google have indeed put up a new instant messaging system today, which you can already use if you've got a Google Gmail email address. (I'm uktanos@gmail.com on both.) The most interesting thing is that it's based on the open XMPP/Jabber standard and they've explicitly committed to "Client Choice", "Service Choice" and "Platform Choice" (so you won't have to use their client, their network or stick to Windows to talk to Google Talk users.)

Recently, I've been thinking about how to add "I'm online!" icons/lists for IC members, and maybe even some kind of IM/chat features, but now I wonder if I can fit the Google Talk and/or Jabber into this somehow...
