mia and I went to @Crimson_Crowbar in Bolton yesterday the for the first Kink Start night and I really enjoyed the evening

The venue has so much potential but even at this early stage it has some great kit and is a very workable location for play events. Well done to @Mr_Smith_UK, @charliecoxx and the rest of the team who've worked to get it this far already!

11 Mar 12 4 weeks to The Warehouse

With just under four weeks to The Warehouse on Saturday 7th April, I've added a provisional timetable on the event thread on IC, with a request for comments and more ideas. It now includes sprint and distance pony cart races, plus a show/parade of puppies, kittens, and ponies.

At the Northern Discussion Forum in Sheffield last weekend safewords were one of the things we talked about. I think BDSM took a wrong turn when they were called safewords, and that it would have been much better if they'd been "stopwords" because I think the word safe is so very often a trap. 18 Feb 12 The old ball and chain

The ball and chain is an iconic tool of captivity, and I've been making a couple as you can see in the picture, mainly for use at Bridgewood. The shackles are Darby style leg cuffs from KUB, but I've adapted the iron balls from off-the-shelf iron gate components. The balls are 5 inches in diameter and weigh about 7kg each which is something mia can carry for a bit but not wander around where she feels like with (we felt the weight of them in the shop), and cost less than £10 each. 12 Feb 12 Great weekend!

I've had a great weekend, with another O&P Open in Manchester on Saturday afternoon, followed by the dinner, and then Club Lash in the evening. Lash seemed particularly busy with lots of people we know there. Today I've bought some Bridgewood related hardware, and have been putting attachment points for chains on some 7kg cast iron balls that I'm turning into ball-and-chains.

4 Feb 12 Cellar pony walker

Walkers are frames that allow horses to exercise by themselves in a circle. For horse owners, they reduce the amount of supervision required, and like a lot of equestrian equipment the idea can be adapted to BDSM. Horses spend their whole lives in some form of bondage or captivity if you think about it

You do see horse walkers appear in pony play contexts now and then: there was one at the old Deferre woodland in Devon, and a couple of Insex scenes had them made out of some of PD's scaffolding. I came across this striking series of pony girl photos by Razoomovsky tonight. Rather than just go for the glossy latex look or take raw pictures of actual pony play, he's used the post processing to create narrative images of world with working pony girls.
